Club Championship
More specifically the Club Cross Country Championship.
The Club Championship Race was first
held on 5th February 1910. Previously Club competition had
been restricted to an annual handicap race and consolation
handicap. From 1910 the Club Championship included a sealed
handicap.
A trophy, which is presented to the Club Champion, was
donated in 1920 by the then President, Mr GF Fowler Esq.
No race was held in 1947 owing to a lack of senior runners.
In recent years the race has been held on cross country
courses at Milnerfield Farm, the old St Walburgas School
at Cottingley, Northcliffe Playing Fields at Shipley, Nab
Wood Sports Centre and Myrtle Park before being discontinued
in 1999.
